Acorns

Every acorn has the potential to become a large, glorious, shade-giving tree, but not every acorn will. Many will be blown off the limbs of the tree onto the concrete only to be eaten by a squirrel. Some will be trampled underfoot and others will simply dry up never to produce an oak tree.

Happy New Year! It's a great time to start again with a refreshed spirit and a renewed mindset. We all have the opportunity to produce something. In fact, every single person will produce something as long as they are alive. The wonderful thing is that you get to choose whether your product will be beneficial or not, whether it will bring happiness or fill a need or not.

The word potential, used as an adjective means “having or showing the capacity to become or develop into something in the future.” Used as a noun, the word potential means having “latent qualities or abilities that may be developed and lead to future success or usefulness.”

Thomas Edison is quoted as having said “Our greatest weakness is giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.” If you failed to produce what you desired in 2022. You have another opportunity, so just try one more time.

Use the experience and lessons learned from past endeavors and try again, just one more time, and then one more time, and then one more time, until you reach your fullest potential.

I am a firm believer that everyone has something to contribute to society. Your acorn might be helping others to develop their potential. Increase your efforts this year, double up on your creativity, your passion and purpose. Play full out and see what happens. I bet you’ll be surprised at what you produce.

Don’t allow your acorns to dry up, be eaten or trampled by others. Use what you have inside of you to grow, grow, grow into a glorious, shade-giving tree. Your community, your family, your city, and the world needs what you have inside of you.
